Deficit - Interview [D1 Music]
Interview with front man Bruce of hard rock band Deficit.
Valdyr: Tell us a little about yourselves.
Bruce: We have been together for about 9 months and jam out as much as possible. We are all from northern VA/DC area. We all share love for diffrent types of metal and blend all of our styles to produce the sound that we have.
Valdyr: What inspired you to get involved with music?
Bruce: One of my good friends, "Mark", was an amazing guitar player. He commited suicide a few years ago. He's the one that got me into the world of music. RIP, bro...
Valdyr: What are some of your influences?
Bruce: Hmmmmm...sooo many. My favorite bands range from anything from the Deftones to Unearth. A nice variety of metal music.
Valdyr: If I opened up your CD player right now, what would I find?
Bruce: Unearth. :-)
Valdyr: When can we expect the album?
Bruce: We just released our new 5 song EP a couple weeks ago. It's called Lost. The full leangth will probably be out next year.
Valdyr: Which do you find more fulfilling, playing live or working in the studio?
Bruce: No recording can compare to the emotions put foward in a live performance.
Valdyr: What’s the most memorable moment you’ve had in your music career?
Bruce: Finding my band brothers and everything just clicking together!
Valdyr: What’s your favorite song to play?
Bruce: "Lost".
Valdyr: What are some of your future goals?
Bruce: If I make it in the music business; that's my goal. If I don't, I'm currently studying information systems in college.
Valdyr: How do you feel about the status of the music industry today?
Bruce: A lot of crap sounds the same, but a lot of crap doesn't. Big ups to the bands that don't.
Valdyr: What do you think about D1’s impact on the industry?
Bruce: D1 is great. With a little more promotion it would be the sh*t.
Valdyr: If you could collaborate with anyone, who would you want to work with?
Bruce: Deftones.
Valdyr: What would be your idea of an ideal tour?
Bruce: Two shows per state, nationwide.
Valdyr: If you had to point to one song as being the most influential in your life, which one would you pick, and why?
Bruce: Too many songs. Every sound that I have ever heard that shows true emotion influences me.
Valdyr: What do you see yourself doing in five years?
Bruce: Still jammin' with Deficit. Touring the world.
Valdyr: That’s all the questions I had; is there anything else you’d like to say?
Bruce: You can check us out at www.deficitmusic.com. Enjoy. :-) I love you, Laura! D1 f*cking rocks! Um, big ups to my girl. Big ups to my band (I don't really talk like this, I'm just drunk. In fact, this is officially the first time I ever said "big ups".). Heheheh...have a great day, folks. See you at the next show!
