Otto's Daughter - April 2004 Demo [D1 Music]

Otto's Daughter is easily a veteran band in the female-fronted industrial underground scene. With two full-length albums and an already awesome well-established stage presence, the band's two new demos are sure signs of the impressive quality of music the third album will surely bring.
The first song, "Don't Care" (which is also currently available for download from the band website), is a heavy-hitting dark current of emotion. Singer Jacqueline van Bierk throws her passion into her work, and the result is a true, steady commitment to her words and vocals, making this song easily accessible and familiar.
The second song, entitled "Angels", may seemingly mislead the listener to expect something lighter both in sound and in content from "Don't Care." The opposite result could not be more true; "Angels" is thick in bass and strong vocals, with a wonderous influence of Indian strains. I found this this Eastern sound was just the perfect addition of unforgettable spice to the song.
I can honestly say I am totally thrilled with these new songs. There is an amazing amount of detail that has been worked into the production of these demos, and I fully expect the third album to be a complete work of art. Otto's Daughter has produced two new songs with a uniquely beautiful sound, meshing love's delicacy with harsh reality.
